Our Holistic & Integrative Care

Your veterinarian may recommend holistic or integrative medicine to treat your companion’s condition. Dr. Krenicki has a masters in traditional Chinese veterinary medicine (TCVM) from Chi University. Chi is an accredited higher-education school and the only Chinese TCVM school in the country. This type of alternative care is becoming more common in veterinary medicine, as these techniques are safe and proven effective for certain conditions that may affect your pet.

Acupuncture

Pet acupuncture is the stimulation of specific points on your pet’s body through thin needles to encourage blood flow, speed healing, reduce inflammation, and relieve pain. Each session may take 20 to 60 minutes and the number of sessions depends on your pet’s condition and how they respond to treatment. We can perform dry needling, minimal needling techniques, aqua-acupuncture, and electro-acupuncture. Depending upon your pet’s condition, we can perform aqua-acupuncture with different substances such as Vitamin B-12, different medications or Platelet Rich Plasma.

Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicine is the use of specific plants or herbs that contain active ingredients with therapeutic properties. We prescribe herbs from Dr. Xie's Jing Tang Herbal, whose herbal products are manufactured strictly in compliance with the FDA's cGMP regulations for dietary supplements. These herbs are distributed to licensed veterinarians who have training in this area and can be safely used as treatment or medication. The formulas used by Jing Tang Herbal are constantly improved due to the latest modern research and additional findings from accumulated clinical studies. Pets may be prescribed herbal medicine to potentially help decrease inflammation, enhance blood flow through damaged tissues, and /or provide pain relief.

Supplements

Your pet’s health may be maintained through supplements such as probiotics, Omega-3 Fish Oils, joint supplements, or multivitamins. We receive our supplements from Standard Process, a company that applies a holistic approach to their farming methods to help ensure these supplements provide complex, yet natural nutrients. The supplements we carry provide support to pets in the following ways:

Increasing hepatic support for problems with liver function
Boosting the immune system to combat upper respiratory infections or immune system disorders
Improving renal support for pets with decreased kidney function
Delivering enteric assistance to help take care of chronic gastrointestinal issues
